How We Play
ScaryLarryKBP Rules
Choosing Teams
To start each session we ‘shoot for teams’. First 3 players to score on either goal are on a team, next 3 players to score make up the other team.
Or…
We throw in our mallets and randomly choose teams.
(Jimmy) Shuffle.
Starting
Players line behind their respective goals touching the rear limit of the court.
Then a “3,2,1,Polo!” is called and one person on each team “jousts” toward the ball and can be followed by other players. Only one player from each team may immediately go for the ball.
Types of Contact ALLOWED
Bike on Bike
Person on Person
Mallet on Mallet
(Jimmy) Footdown
When your foot touches the ground you must remove yourself from play and Tap-in at the designated tap-in spot(s) on the court. It is frowned upon to attempt to play or alter a shot while “(Jimmy) Footdown”.
Scoring
A ball can only be scored if it is hit with the tip of the mallet head. A shuffle is not counted as a score. The ball must also go between the cones at a height no greater than the top of the wheel.
Ricocheting Goals
Scores ARE counted if they bounce off other objects and into the goal, ONLY if they are hit prior by the scoring tip of the mallet. No limit to the number of ricochets.
Own Goals
Count. “PUNISHMENT”
Mallet Hacking
If you are in the game and holding a mallet, it is subject to mallet on mallet contact.
Don’t Be a “D” Rule
Situational and not clearly defined.
If action taken by one player against another is taken in a dirty manor (intentionally harming another player) it will be noticed and is grounds for suspension, banishment or beat down.

Ball Dragging (ball joint)
Allowed. However, counts as a push if scoring.
Tap-in spots
Tap-in spots are designated before each game.
